VÄSTERVIK - WHERE TOMORROW´S DRONES SHAPE OUR FUTURE TODAY!
Overview UXV Test & Demo
Over a Decade of UAS Test and Demo Experience
With more than 10 years of UAS test and demo, Västerviks has a long and broad experience from different types of missions.
Västervik: Sweden's National Drone Centre
Västervik is designated National Drone Centre by the Swedish Transport Agency and have Sweden's first/largest civilian UAS geo-zon (1 800 km2, R area), one of Europe's largest.
Sweden’s Largest Civilian UAS Geo-Zone for Extensive Testing
The UAS geo-zon is the foundation for our UXV R/D, test and demo in air, land and water and combinations, as well as payloads and other related unmanned technologies.
Västervik Airport: The Hub for Advanced UAS Operations
“Base camp” is Västervik Airport (ESSW) with its continuously improved infrastructure but take of and landing can also be other places covered by the UAS geo-zon.
Comprehensive Toolbox for Testing and Commercial Demonstrations
Our toolbox for helping all types of tests or commercial demos is vast. If needed, we complement our own in-house competence from our well know friends in the “VDSP Drone Community”
Do not hesitate to get in contact for further dialog.

Västerviks airport – ESSW
The airport is owned and run by the Västervik Municipality, but VDSP is designated development/operations manager and part of the daily operations.
It was inaugurated 1971 and until 1986 there was daily regular flights to Stockholm and Oskarshamn. The airport has from start been used by general aviation, air taxi, emergency services and the armed forces etc. In 2014 drone tests and demonstrations was started.
• Centrally located 15 min from the city centre
• Since there are no regular flights, it can be used privately if needed for sensitive missions.
• During testing/demo, various options are offered regarding premises/hangar options.
• Continuous development of the airport with various possibilities for renting premises/hangar or construction of own premises with land lease.
